Client experiences

Trusted to find the right selling venue

Clients describe auction and consignment work for collections, household contents, antiques, and artwork.

Antiques and paintings

“It was a gift to work with Laura K. Miller (Miller Estate Solutions and Services) to help guarantee that my mother’s favorite estate pieces found a good home, whether through auction or consignment or other venues. She handled a storage locker full of antiques and paintings with knowledge, care and kindness. Her staff is lovely and strong. What could not be sold was donated. She is beyond organized and efficient.”

Sally M.Edina, MN

Auction or consignment

“I can highly recommend Laura Miller / Miller Estate Solutions, Inc. for removal of contents from your home and preparing the contents for sale by auction or consignment. In my case, Laura and her team did everything they had promised in a professional manner and were outstanding in follow up.”

James B.Apple Valley, MN

Recent auctions

“I am extremely happy with how my project is working out! I am very happy with how the recent auctions went! I appreciate all your help!”

The placement map

Where should each piece sell? Different categories belong in different markets

Estate auctions in Minnesota are one route among several. Miller Estate Solutions starts with the item, not a preferred auction calendar, and lets research and category fit guide the recommended placement.

Our broker review

  1. Fine art

Artist, provenance, condition, and market fit are considered.

  2. Estate jewelry and sterling

Material, maker, condition, and audience shape the route.

  3. Coins and currency

Category knowledge helps identify a suitable specialist channel.

  4. Collectibles

Comics, trains, memorabilia, and other collections may need different audiences.

  5. Firearms

Approved items require an appropriate and compliant selling channel.

Placement is recommended case by case. Sale outcomes depend on the item and the market.

Personal determination of value

We know what things are worth, and who will pay the most.

Research comes before placement. Maker, age, condition, demand, and provenance decide where a piece should sell, and which buyers already gather for that category.

Dailymarket study across key categories

The right venue for every item

Fine art belongs at one auction house, jewelry and coins somewhere else entirely. Category fit drives the recommendation.

A broker for your family's things

Each approved piece is matched to a venue suited to its market. Many of those partners work by relationship and are not taking new clients directly.

Every estate is different, and past results are not a promise.

Selling a collection only? High-value auction sales do not require a full estate project.

The broker process

Assess, research, place, settle

  1. Assess

Share photos, known history, condition details, and the scope of the collection or selected pieces.

  2. Research

Miller Estate Solutions reviews category, provenance when available, condition, and potential venue fit.

  3. Place

Approved pieces are consigned or directed to the auction house or selling venue selected for the category.

  4. Settle

We coordinate the records, proceeds information, and item-level auction results when they apply to the selected service.

One coordinated service

What Miller Estate Solutions manages for the client

  • Placement recommendation

A category-aware recommendation for the approved piece or collection.

  • Consignment coordination

Communication and approved terms are coordinated with the selected venue.

  • Transport coordination

The handoff to the selected venue is organized as part of the agreed scope.

  • Applicable results

Item-level auction results are provided when that reporting belongs to the selected service.

Relationship-based access

A network built around category fit

Miller Estate Solutions works with a small, relationship-based vendor network built over years. A core few vendors are involved in nearly every project, while others are brought in when their category knowledge or market access fits the item.

Some of these vendors do not take new clients directly. We coordinate the relationship, prepare the approved items, and manage the handoff as part of the broker service.

The network expands the available routes. It does not create a guaranteed sale or price, and each recommendation still depends on the item and current market.

  • A small, relationship-based vendor network
  • Core vendors on nearly every project
  • No direct intake of new clients

The important distinction

Miller Estate Solutions represents the client, not an auction calendar

We do not operate an auction house or conduct auctions. The service is private brokerage, research, and venue placement for approved pieces and collections.

Auction sales, in a client's words

“Laura handled an auction of comic books in a very professional manner. Communication was constant and informative. The sales went better than expected with the proceeds provided quickly. I would recommend her service.”

Auction sales questions

Before you choose a venue

Does Miller Estate Solutions run its own auctions?

No. We act as a broker and place approved items with auction-house partners or other suitable selling venues. We coordinate the process as the client's point of contact.

What kinds of items can be considered for auction placement?

Fine art, jewelry, sterling, coins and currency, comics, trains, memorabilia, firearms, and other collectible categories may be considered. Condition, provenance when available, demand, and venue fit all matter.

Can I sell a collection without liquidating an estate?

Yes. High-Value Auction Sales can be used to sell a collection or a group of approved pieces on its own. A full estate project is not required.

How does Miller Estate Solutions choose an auction house?

We consider the category, available history, condition, audience, terms, and current venue fit. Different pieces from the same collection may follow different routes.

Will I receive item-level results?

Item-level auction results are available when they are part of the selected service and venue reporting. The written scope explains which records apply.

Does the vendor network guarantee a sale or price?

No. The network gives Miller Estate Solutions more category-aware placement options, but buyer demand, condition, timing, and the market determine the result.

What carries across every path

One standard of care, shaped to the scope

Specialist auction placement still keeps the same working principles: privacy at the property, deliberate timing, venue-aware routing, and certified practice.

  • 01Days, not weeks

Once venues, reserves, and logistics are set in writing, placement moves on a defined schedule instead of a drawn-out house-sale calendar.

  • 02Off-site privacy

Buyers and venues meet the work away from the home. The property is not opened for a public shopping event.

  • 03Value-aware routing

Fine art, jewelry, and collectibles are matched to the broker path or specialist venue that fits the piece and the written scope.

  • 04ASEL certified

Certified by the American Society of Estate Liquidators (ASEL), with family ownership and insurance behind high-value placement work.
